RED DEER COUNTY invites letters of interest / applications from residents of Red Deer County who may be interested in sitting as a member at large on the following Committees/Boards.

SUBDIVISION AND DEVELOPMENT APPEAL BOARD - This is a Quasi‑Judicial Board hearing appeals arising from Development and Subdivision Applications within the County.  Persons interested in being a member of this Board should be open minded, able to interpret legislation, have analytical and reasoning skills, be comfortable speaking in public as well as being able to communicate effectively.

This five (5) member Board meets as required and the meetings are normally held on Thursdays during the day.  Appointments to this Board are for a two-year term. 

Members of this Board are also appointed as the members of the NUISANCE ABATEMENT COMMITTEE - this committee reviews and has discretion with regard to further action on any nuisance and unsightly condition complaints as per the conditions of the Nuisance Abatement Bylaw No. 2006/26.

RED DEER REGIONAL AIRPORT AUTHORITY - The Authority owns the Red Deer Airport and is responsible for the operation and maintenance of this facility.  Red Deer County appoints six members to the 12-person Authority and is presently seeking applications for members with the   appointments to be for a three- or four-year term.

Experience in air transportation, industry, commerce, finance, administration, law or engineering would be an asset.  Authority meetings are held once a month.  Further information regarding the Airport Authority is available at www.flyreddeer.com.
