Board Committees
Get Involved. Shape What Happens Next.
At the Chamber, we believe the best ideas don’t come from the sidelines - they come from conversations between knowledgeable staff and engaged members who are in it with us. That’s why we’ve launched a new committee structure designed to bring more voices, more expertise, and real-world perspective directly into the work of your Chamber! These committees are where insight turns into action — giving members the opportunity to contribute meaningfully, not just by sharing ideas, but by helping shape how those ideas come to life.
How It Works:
Our committees are operational advisory groups that work alongside Chamber staff and Board members to support priorities outlined in our Strategic and Operating Plans.
They are focused, collaborative, and impact-driven; ensuring our work reflects the real needs, challenges, and opportunities facing businesses across our region.
Committees do:
- Support and advise on Chamber initiatives
- Provide insight, feedback, and real-world perspective
- Help test and strengthen ideas before implementation
Committees do not:
- Govern or replace the role of the Board
- Manage staff or operations
- Set policy independently
Committee members can expect:
- Participation in a June orientation session
- A one-year term (with the opportunity to continue)
- Monthly meetings (approximately 60–90 minutes)
- Occasional email input or light support between meetings
This is a meaningful but manageable commitment designed to fit alongside your business and other priorities, while still making a real impact.
Where You Can Plug In:
We have four committees where members can get involved:
Advocacy
The Advocacy Committee will bring business insight directly into the Chamber’s policy and advocacy work. Members will help identify key issues, shape recommendations, support advocacy efforts, and build relationships that ensure the business community is heard at every level of government.
Events
The Events Committee will help shape the Chamber’s event experiences to ensure they deliver real value, strong visibility, and meaningful community engagement. Members will contribute ideas for event planning and programming, support promotion and volunteer coordination, and provide feedback to continuously improve and elevate our events.
Marketing
The Marketing Committee will help shape the Chamber’s visibility, brand presence, and communications to ensure strong, consistent engagement. Members will contribute to campaign planning, provide insight into storytelling and audience engagement, advise on brand and communications strategies, and help evaluate effectiveness.
Membership
The Membership Committee will help strengthen the Chamber’s member experience by supporting growth, engagement, and retention. Members will provide insight into member needs, contribute to recruitment and onboarding strategies, recommend initiatives to enhance engagement, and identify opportunities to increase member value.
Each committee plays a unique role in delivering the Chamber’s work, and each one needs engaged, thoughtful members at the table. Committee appointments will be made in May, with orientation to be held in June.
If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love to be more involved” - this is your moment!
