Help Shape the Future of Work in Central Alberta

The way we work is changing quickly. Across Central Alberta, businesses are navigating workforce shortages, evolving skill needs, new technologies, and changing employee expectations — often all at the same time. This Future of Work project was developed in response to what we heard directly from businesses through the BREWD initiative and ongoing conversations across our region. Through a partnership between the Red Deer & District Chamber of Commerce, Central Alberta First, and Red Deer Polytechnic — and funded by the Government of Alberta through a Labour Market Partnership grant as well as the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) — we have an opportunity to better understand what businesses are experiencing today and what supports may be needed for the future.

The survey will help identify workforce, technology, growth, and transition challenges facing businesses across the region and inform future supports and initiatives. This research matters because strong data leads to better decisions, stronger workforce planning, and more effective support for businesses and communities across Central Alberta. The survey results will help identify trends, challenges, and opportunities that can shape future conversations, partnerships, and actions.

Your participation matters. By hearing from businesses and organizations across Central Alberta, we can build a stronger understanding of the workforce realities facing our region today and better inform future supports and initiatives.
